The Tahune Airwalk is a spectacular Forestry owned tourist attraction located in the Huon Valley, just seventy kilometres south of Hobart on the Huon River. Walk through the trees on cantilever walks suspended high above the ground and get a bird’s eye view of the forest and river. The Airwalk averages heights between twenty and thirty metres above the forest floor, with the very last section – the cantilever – sitting at a height of 48 metres above the river.

The Airwalk has become a popular destination for families, tourists and lovers of the Australian forest. Its unique structures and location offer the viewer an amazing perspective of the forest and its surrounds. The walk along the cantilever stretches for 597 metres through the treetops. The sensation of being suspended above the Huon River while capturing breathtaking treetop views simply has to be experienced. There are more walking adventures available at Tahune, including the Swinging Bridges that span fifty metres across the river, making for amazing photos and a thrilling experience.

A short distance away from the Tahune Airwalk is the Hastings Cave Reserve. This is another spectacular place where you can enjoy a variety of activities and soak up the unique atmosphere. As well as a cave tour – which includes Australia’s largest tourist Dolomite Cave – you can enjoy the Thermal Springs pool where the water is always 28 degrees. The Tahune Airwalk is a wonderful way to enjoy the Tasmanian forests, be sure to take advantage of it.
