The first half hour of every tour is for setting you up with all the safety gear – a full face helmet, goggles and gloves – and then your guide will give you a safety brief on quad bike operation and get you to complete laps of the practice track until you’re feeling confident to go out on tour!!
No experience is necessary as quads are automatic and easy to use. Each tour is catered to the participants ability so first time and experienced riders are both welcome! Kangaroo Island Outdoor Action is committed to safety and reserves the right to stop any rider from continuing the tour if safety instructions are not followed.
- What to bring:
- Enclosed footwear, long pants, weather appropriate clothing and a camera. We recommend to bring a change of clothes for kayaking.

Tour Description
The Family Outdoor Pack is a great option for your family to get the most amount of action possible! Experience all three activities: the Daytime Nature Tour, Kayaking on the Harriet River, and Sandboarding at Little Sahara.
The Family Outdoor Pack is priced at $499 and includes:
4 x Daytime Nature Tour
2 x Double Kayak or 4 x Single Kayaks
2 x Sandboards or Toboggans
The Daytime Nature Tour is a great introductory tour for children and families who want to experience all the fun of quad biking!! We have a range of smaller quads suitable for children as young as six years old and tailor each tour to suit their ability. We’ll guide you through a range of terrains like open grassland and winding trails through native bush, building your skills and increasing your confidence along the way. Lots of fun for first time riders!
Sandboarding is the best way to experience the massive dunes of Little Sahara. Grab your boards from the team at the Kangaroo Island Outdoor Action office, who will give you a wax demonstration to make you slide better down the dunes and will also give you a few tips to keep you safe at the dunes. They will also explain how to get to Little Sahara and then you’re ready to go!!
To top off the day, paddle up to five kilometres of the calm and meandering Harriet River with a chance to view a variety of birds and other wildlife. Relax as you enjoy the beautiful scenery. We help you launch the kayaks on the Harriet River, which is just 400 metres away from the Kangaroo Island Outdoor Action Office at Vivonne Bay. Paddles, backrests and life jackets are provided, and dry bags are also available. Our kayaks are the latest sit on top design from RTM in Europe and have a wide hull design ensuring stability.
