Day 1: Early morning pick up from your Adelaide hostel for a scenic coach trip to Cape Jervis to connect with SeaLink's ferry for the 45 minute crossing to Kangaroo Island. On arrival in Penneshaw meet your local Driver/Guide. First stop is Rob's Shearing, before heading to Pennington Bay. Continue to Emu Ridge Eucalyptus Distillery before having lunch and visiting Seal Bay. Just down the road from Seal Bay are the white sand dunes of the Little Sahara where some fun is to be had on the sand boards before arriving at Vivonne Bay Eco-Adventures. Here you have the opportunity to spend some free time kayaking on the Harriet River, swimming or surfing at Vivonne Bay Beach, take a self-guided walk through the property tracks, go trail bike riding or simply relax. Back at camp there are complementary activities to keep you occupied before and after your BBQ meal. As darkness sets see Kangaroos, Tamar Wallabies and Possums and head to Point Ellen to witness the arrival of the Little Penguins. On return to camp relax around the fire (except in summer months) or kick back on the deck with a glass of local wine before retiring to the comfort of your bed.
Day 2: After breakfast get up close to more wildlife at Hanson Bay Koala sanctuary before travelling to Flinders Chase National Park. At Remarkable Rocks marvel at the huge granite boulders sculptured by nature. Enjoy the spectacular coast and seascapes as you head around to Admirals Arch at Cape Du Couedic where we watch the resident fur seals frolic in the ocean or sunbake on the rocks. After lunch you have an option of several walks before hitting the spectacular North Coast and its many idyllic beaches. Time and weather permitting several stops may be made en route to Penneshaw, allowing time to purchase dinner (own expense) before returning to the mainland and Adelaide.
Please Note: Children under 12 years cannot stay at Vivonne Bay Eco-Adventures, therefore they are not able to travel on the Kangaroo Island Adventure Tour.
