• Amaze yourself as you walk through the rocky formations of Walpa Gorge to enjoy nature at its supreme best.

This amazing tour departs at approximately 2.30 pm daily from Ayers Rock Resort or your local Ayers Rock accommodation. Begin your tour with your experienced driver guide giving you an overview of the Uluru – Kata Tjuta National Park. The indigenous people have been in the area for over 22,000 years, so there’s a lot for you to cover.

While you’re on your way, make sure you get off at the lookout to appreciate panoramic views of Kata Tjuta, which is just 40 km to the west of Uluru. Continue your trip as you arrive at the base of Walpa Gorge. The gorge is a rich natural haven for animals and plants. You can spend some time discovering the gorge and the rare rock formations in the surrounding area. The Walpa Gorge walking trail has a natural creek between the tallest Kata Tjuta domes that is sure to leave you captivated in delight. Indulge in the world of rare evergreen species, as you walk through the charming trail.

In the latter half of the afternoon after the walk, we’ll take you to the Uluru sunset viewing point. Make sure you have ample space in your camera, as you’ll witness a multitude of different, but equally gorgeous hues over the rock, as the sun fades away. The striking colour changes of the Uluru sunset is appreciated across the world and you’ll get to do it in style as you enjoy a glass of wine and some delectable nibbles.

You may even see some camels strolling through the park. Once you get to the sunset viewing point, you’ll be presented with a wide selection of delicious nibbles and local Australian wines, where you can immerse yourself in the grandeur of the spectacular sunset. No other sunset in the world can compare to the experience of the Uluru sunset. Find your own personal space and relax as the red rock rises to life, while the sunset caresses its contours. Watch in awe as a multitude of colour hues manifest the beauty of Ayers Rock. After sunset, you will be returned to your hotel or Ayers Rock Resort. If you’ve opted for the optional dinner, then the tour is extended by another two hours.

Please note that the $25 National Park entry fee isn’t included in the tour package.
